December 23, 2019, marked a day when Kenyans took to social media to express their thoughts on what they consider to be failures for doing the right thing.
The conversation started with a meme that originated from an image of Dexter, a Cartoon Network character, looking up to a poster of Albert Einstein in his locker and saying 'I have failed you.'
The meme has been photoshopped to feature a Kenyan flag, sparking a wild reaction from the public.
Some of the things that Kenyans think they have failed for doing the right thing include:
- Agreeing to meet someone at 2:30 pm and actually meeting at 2:30 pm.
- Throwing away shopping bags instead of keeping them under the sink.
- Saying 'toothpaste' instead of 'Colgate.'
- Asking a friend about their rent, water, and electricity situation before visiting.
- Leaving the house without checking the door to ensure it's locked.
- Not going out to check if the power outage is affecting neighbors when the lights go off.
These humorous examples highlight the challenges that come with doing the right thing in Kenya.
