Ms Nancy Matimu has been appointed as the new Managing Director of MultiChoice Kenya, effective December 2019. This appointment marks a significant milestone for the company, as Ms Matimu becomes the first female to hold the position.
Ms Matimu brings a wealth of experience to the role, having had a 15-year career in leading organizations in financial services and ICT. She has a proven track record of driving growth through transformation, capacity building, and sales and operational excellence.
According to MultiChoice Africa Northern Region Director Maharage Chande, Ms Matimu's appointment comes at a critical time for the video entertainment business. Competition among pay-television players is growing, and consumer tastes are shifting with evolving media trends.
Ms Matimu's appointment is expected to further strengthen MultiChoice's market leadership position in Kenya's entertainment and media industry. She has expressed her excitement to join the company and lead the business at an exciting time for the industry.
Ms Matimu holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Strathmore University, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University, and a Post Graduate Diploma (CIM) in Marketing. She is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) and Chief Executive Program (CEP) from Strathmore, IESE, and Lagos Business Schools.
