Priscilla Ndanu Maina is a jack-of-all-trades, excelling as a makeup artist, TV and commercials producer, director at True D Pictures, and devoted mother.
As the founder of Urembo Creations College, she sat down with 'ONEXTRA' to share her inspiring story.
Priscilla's passion for makeup and filmmaking began in high school, where she formed a group called Urembo Creations with her friends at Ngara Girls' High School.
After meeting her future husband Sammy Dee, a gifted video director, Priscilla's passion for makeup inspired her to start Urembo Creations Limited, which now encompasses Urembo Creations College and Urembo Creations.
Her first job was a music video gig that paid her Sh5,000, a significant amount for an 18-year-old at the time.
Priscilla's journey with Urembo Creations began on August 4, when she resigned from her job at Pambio Live to start free make-up workshops in Shauri Moyo, Korogocho, Kayole, Soweto, South C, and Kibera.
She aims to empower young women who want to become makeup artists but cannot afford school fees.
Priscilla also produces the TV show 'Minjiminji' on Rembo TV, which targets women and is a result of her company True D Pictures pitching to run the TV station when it was introduced in Kenya.
She manages her busy schedule by being organized, prioritizing her tasks, and keeping a small circle of friends.
Despite facing numerous challenges and moments of self-doubt, Priscilla persevered and is now known for enhancing makeup that doesn't change one's look.
She has several projects in the pipeline, including initiatives to impact the lives of teenagers and preserve their inner beauty.
Priscilla's long-term plan is to make Urembo Creations a beacon of light in the beauty industry, using her art and inner beauty to inspire others.
