Bolt, a leading ride-hailing app, has expanded its services in Nairobi with the introduction of two new ride categories: Lite and Plus.
According to Bolt Kenya Country Manager Ola Akinnusi, the new categories aim to cater to the dynamic needs of customers, providing affordable and convenient transportation services.
The Lite category features hatchbacks with 1,200cc engines and below, with a fare per kilometre of Sh25 on short trips and Sh33 after 11 kilometres.
The Plus category, on the other hand, offers sedans and station wagon cars with engines of more than 1,500cc, with a fare per kilometre of Sh40 on short trips and Sh50 after 25 kilometres.
Notably, the Plus category will only consider drivers with a rating of over 4.8 out of five.
These new services follow Bolt's expansion drive, which saw it add seven more towns to its network, including Nyeri, Meru, Embu, Nanyuki, Karatina, Kilifi, and Malindi.
As Bolt continues to grow its presence in Kenya, it remains committed to providing the best earnings for driver-partners and convenient transportation services to customers.
On the introduction of the new categories, Bolt Kenya Country Manager Ola Akinnusi said, 'This move is to enable us to bring services that suit the dynamic needs of our customers and continue to provide affordable and convenient transportation services to everyone.'
He added, 'Bolt is excited to introduce two new ride types in Nairobi — Lite and Plus to give customers more options to choose from and still provide the best earnings for driver-partners. We believe that more options for customers translate to more trips, hence stronger earnings for drivers.'
