Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has found himself at the center of ridicule after sharing photos of himself wearing an oversized omu-suti on his Facebook page.
Since Friday, pictures have been circulating on social media of Murkomen wearing the oversized shirt, with netizens sharing a picture of a man in a well-fitting shirt similar in design, implying that his tailor did not do a good job.
However, in a sudden change of tune, Murkomen has now linked opposition leader Raila Odinga to the embarrassing incident, claiming that Raila organized the mishap as a way to embarrass him.
Speaking on Sunday evening, the Majority leader in the Senate confirmed that after intensive investigations, he had come to the realization that it was Raila who was behind the mishap.
“He has always wanted to embarrass me,” Murkomen noted.
Murkomen has found himself on the receiving end of mockery and fun, with social media users implying that he needs to grow some muscles to fit well into the shirt, as purportedly suggested by his tailor.
Responding cheekily to netizens, the vocal lawmaker admitted that he needs to grow some muscles, but now seems to have changed tune, reading political mischief in the whole saga.
He calls out the ODM brigade, led by Raila Odinga, as being the people who would go to any lengths to embarrass him, even producing an omu-suti.
“I am aware of their plans but they will not succeed. I am a leader loved across by many people and their moves will not succeed,” he affirmed.
