On Sunday, December 22, 2019, Gor Mahia secured a crucial 3-0 win over Kisumu All Stars at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, reclaiming the top spot in the Kenyan Premier League.

The match saw Nicholas Kipkirui, captain Kenneth Muguna, and Bernard Ondiek score in the 46th, 60th, and 63rd minutes respectively, securing maximum points for the defending champions.

Coach Steve Polack praised his team's performance, saying, "I am glad to have picked the points away because we never anticipated a win because we haven’t been training regularly."

Meanwhile, Kisumu All Stars coach Henry Omino attributed their loss to miscommunication, stating, "We employed our initial plan to win the match and controlled it during the first half, but lost it at the beginning of the second half all because of confusion."

With this win, Gor Mahia surpassed Tusker on the log, both teams having 28 points, but Gor Mahia having three matches at hand.

Ulinzi Stars also secured a 4-0 win over Zoo at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, while AFC Leopards thumped Mathare United 3-0 in Mumias.
