On December 22, 2019, a devastating accident occurred on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, leaving six people with grievous injuries.
The bus, owned by Chania Genesis company, was headed to Mombasa from Nairobi when it collided with a truck, causing widespread damage.
According to Voi sub-county Police Commander Bernstein Shari, the six victims suffered broken ribs, head, and tissue injuries, and may be transferred to Mombasa for specialized treatment.
Police have launched a manhunt for the two drivers who fled the scene after the accident, and have also announced a crackdown on motorists who flout road rules.
Commander Shari cautioned motorists to be vigilant on the road, emphasizing the importance of adhering to road safety regulations.
