England's Cricket World Cup-winning team has been hailed as heroes, and their achievements are set to be recognized in the Queen's New Year Honours. The team's thrilling Super Over triumph over New Zealand in the final was a momentous occasion, and their victory has been celebrated by fans around the world.

According to reports, captain Eoin Morgan will be awarded a CBE, while his teammates, including Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, will also receive honours for their contributions to the team's historic victory. Stokes, who was praised for his calm leadership throughout the World Cup, described the win over New Zealand at Lord's in July as 'the greatest game ever played.'

Stokes' impressive performance in the World Cup was just one of many highlights of his summer. He also smashed one of the greatest innings of all time in The Ashes, hitting 135 not out to win the third Test at Headingley. His innings included 11 fours and eight sixes, and he was later named England's man of the series in a 2-2 draw against Australia.

However, Stokes' success in the summer came two years after he was charged with affray following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September 2017. He missed the entire 2017-18 Ashes over the incident and subsequent trial, but was acquitted in court.

England's Ashes heroes of 2005 were also recognized in the Queen's New Year Honours list. The team's historic victory marked a new era in English cricket, and their achievements will be remembered for years to come.
