Deadly Road Trip

On a fateful day in December 2019, a family set out on a road trip to visit Grandma, unaware of the tragedy that awaited them.

As they hit the road, the family's parents were distracted, with the father preoccupied with a phone call and the mother busy applying lipstick in the rear-view mirror.

The children, meanwhile, were excitedly munching on snacks and singing along to their favorite song on the car radio.

But as the speedometer ticked up to 120 kilometers per hour, the family's reckless behavior caught up with them.

They failed to notice a trailer headed for Nairobi, driven by a tired and Miraa-chewing driver, who had not slept for two days.

The trailer veered into the family's lane, and in a split second, the two vehicles collided in a gruesome road accident.

Four people, including the father, mother, and two children, were pronounced dead on the spot.

The only survivor, the youngest son, Kababa, was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

His mother, Liz, was left to grapple with the guilt of not stopping the accident, and the trauma of losing her child.

As she broke down in tears, the doctors told her that there was nothing more they could have done.

The family's tragic fate serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the devastating consequences of reckless behavior.

As the festive season approaches, let this be a cautionary tale of the dangers of ignoring warning signs and the importance of Arriving Alive.
