Naivasha, Kenya - December 22, 2019
Security guards Eric Nyongesa and John Kamau, who accused Peter Karanja of violently robbing them, have now withdrawn the charges against him.
The guards, who work for Stega Security Company, had accused Karanja, his brother Joel Kuria, and friend Peter Maina of storming their residential home in Gilgil and attacking them on November 9, 2019.
According to the charge sheet, the three men were armed with crude weapons and robbed the guards of their mobile phones and cash.
However, through their advocate F.I Mburu, the guards have now opposed an application by Martha Wangari, the estranged wife of Karanja, to be enjoined in the case, stating that they are ready to settle the case out of court.
Naivasha Chief Magistrate Kennedy Bidali will make a ruling on the application on January 23, 2020.
