On Sunday morning, a devastating accident occurred on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, leaving six people seriously injured. The Chania Genesis bus they were traveling in collided with a truck at Manga, a busy stretch of road.

According to Voi Sub-county Police Commander Bernstein Shari, 24 other passengers were taken to Moi County referral hospital with minor injuries. The police commander revealed that six of the injured were in a critical condition and might be transferred to Mombasa for further treatment.

Mr. Shari explained that the casualties suffered broken limbs, head injuries, and various degrees of tissue injuries. He emphasized the importance of exercising caution during the festive season to avoid loss of lives through road accidents.

Both drivers were not found at the scene, prompting a manhunt by the police. The police officer advised motorists to drive cautiously and shun high speeds to minimize accidents.

As the festive season approaches, the police have launched a pursuit on motorists flouting traffic rules along the roads in Voi. This move aims to reduce the number of road accidents and ensure a safer journey for all.
