Former Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohamed has left many wondering if he's making a comeback to television screens.
Just two months after leaving Citizen TV, Hussein took to social media to express gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta for conferring on him the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) state honour.
On his graduation day, Hussein received news of the state honour, which he shared on his social media pages.
He tweeted, 'I'm humbled and honored to receive the award of the 'Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear', MBS. Thank you President Uhuru Kenyatta.'
His message sparked speculation that he might be returning to the screen, given his continued updates on news items on his social media pages.
Others who received state awards and honours on Jamhuri Day include veteran journalists Mohammed Khadija Ali, Jack Oyoo Sylvester, and Festus Omole Asiko.
According to the president's office, awards are made upon the advice of a National Honors and Awards Committee.
December 20, 2019, Hussein tweeted, 'Indeed serving the nation is the true calling. To the nation that I served & will serve, thank U for the support. Again, see U soon.'
