On December 22, 2019, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results were announced, and among the schools that shone was Kisima Mixed Secondary School in Nyandarua County.
Located in Ol Jooro Orok, a few kilometers from Nyahururu town, Kisima Mixed is an extra-county school that has been making waves with its outstanding performance.
According to the results, the school attained a mean score of 10.0588, a significant improvement from last year's 9.5. This achievement is a testament to the school's commitment to providing quality education to its students.
Two students, Janet Wairimu Kahora and Pinky Esther Ong'ayo, scored A (plain) of 82 and 81 points, respectively, while 11 other learners scored A-(minus).
Further to this, 12 candidates from the school attained grade B+ (plus), six scored B (plain), two had B- (minus), while the last one candidate achieved a C+ (plus).
Principal Daniel Amunga attributed the school's success to discipline and hard work. 'At Kisima, discipline is our first chore. That is why we have been managing to post good results every year,' he said.
Amunga also highlighted the school's commitment to assisting students from poor families, saying, 'We are here to assist them and brighten their lives. These are all students from poor families and we are proud that they now have achieved their goals.'
