A 32-year-old woman from Lurambi, Kakamega, has been arrested after allegedly setting fire to her husband's house on December 19.
The incident occurred after the woman, identified as Anne Sande, discovered that her husband Dominic Miti had given their co-wife KSh 1,000 for Christmas while leaving her with nothing.
According to reports, Miti had attempted to calm Sande down by promising to give her KSh 1,000, but she refused to be placated.
"I was planning to give her KSh 1,000. However, she did not want to be calm," Miti said in an interview.
The couple was arrested and taken to a police station, but they were released the following day.
However, Sande was rearrested and is currently being held at the Kakamega police station as investigations continue.
