On December 11, Ajax defender Daley Blind suffered a bout of dizziness during a Champions League match against Valencia. The incident has led to a diagnosis of heart muscle inflammation, according to Ajax.

Blind, a 29-year-old former Manchester United player, has undergone extensive medical examination in recent days. He has been diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation and will have a device placed under the skin to monitor and regulate any irregular heart rhythms.

As a result, Blind will not start the training camp selection at the beginning of January but will continue to work on his recovery in Amsterdam. The news could put at risk his availability for the Netherlands in the Euro 2020 championships.

Blind thanked his supporters on Twitter for their messages, saying they 'helped me.' He also expressed his determination to return to the pitch as soon as possible, stating, 'The most important thing is that I'm feeling good at the moment and I'm trying to come back as soon as possible.'
