Published on December 21, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the suspect in the murder of her Dutch husband Tob Cohen, has filed an application in court seeking compensation from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for the alleged illegal seizure of her Kitisuru home.

Wairimu, who was released on a cash bail of Sh2 million, is demanding Sh500 million from the DCI, claiming that the seizure of her home was unlawful.

She wants the DCI boss, George Kinoti, to appear in court in person to provide a breakdown of the status of the mansion, including a full inventory of the property and steps taken to preserve its condition and value.

Wairimu and her late husband jointly owned the property, which was purchased on June 7, 2000, and registered in Cohen's name by mutual agreement.

The matter will be heard on January 15th, 2020, before Justice Lydia Achode.
