On Saturday, a road accident involving a flashy limousine occurred on the Mwea-Embu road, causing a significant delay to a wedding ceremony.
According to sources, the couple, Lee Njiru and Maureen Wangithi, had hired the limousine for Ksh.200,000 for the day, expecting a luxurious ride to the wedding reception at Kiamutugu in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County.
However, their plans were foiled when a 65-year-old woman driving another vehicle collided with the limousine on the side, causing the driver to lose control and crash the vehicle.
Although no one was physically hurt in the accident, the bridal party was left disappointed and had to arrive at the wedding reception in a less dramatic manner than they had initially anticipated.
‘We hired the limousine at Ksh.200,000 to transport the bride, but now she will be transported to the Christians Worship International Ministry in another vehicle, it is a big loss,’ said the transport manager.
The limousine has since been towed to the Wang’uru Police Station.
