Jose Mourinho, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has dismissed concerns about conflicting loyalties ahead of his team's Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Mourinho emphasized his commitment to Tottenham, stating, 'I am 100% Tottenham. No space at all for my previous clubs.'
Despite having won three league titles in two spells at Chelsea, Mourinho insisted that his emotional allegiance lies with Tottenham, saying, 'My club is Tottenham so it's so, so easy for me. Not difficult from the emotional side of things.'
Former England midfielder Glenn Hoddle, who has played for and managed both London clubs, has previously stated that Spurs are now bigger than Chelsea in terms of fanbase, training ground, and stadium. Mourinho responded to this view by saying, 'My club is always the best club in the world, the best, the biggest in the world. Always my club, always.'
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, who became one of the finest midfielders in the world under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, will be looking to get the better of his former mentor on Sunday. Mourinho, however, is confident that his team will emerge victorious, saying, 'I hope he loses on Sunday.'
With Tottenham looking to make it five wins from six league matches, a victory against Chelsea would see them leapfrog their rivals into the top four. The match is set to be a closely contested affair, with both teams eager to secure a positive result.
