For Kendi, the city represented a world of endless possibilities, a place where dreams could come true. Her aunt Emma, an assistant in a major telecommunications company, was the epitome of success in her eyes.

Emma's presence was undeniable – her high heels, magical lipstick, and self-assured demeanor commanded attention wherever she went. Her neatly packed hard-shell suitcase and carefully arranged clothes were a testament to her organizational skills.

One day, Kendi and her mother visited Emma's office at lunchtime, and as they waited to see her, they observed the office activity with great interest. The few women present were young, just like Emma.

When Emma finally emerged, she was beaming with excitement, carrying her wallet. She shared the news of her promotion with the receptionist and invited Kendi's mother to join her for lunch, saying, 'I have something to celebrate, would you like some ice cream?'

Over lunch, Emma revealed that her promotion was a direct result of her mother's influence, who had taught her to believe in herself and speak up. This moment had a profound impact on Kendi, inspiring her to grow up to be courageous like her aunt.
