Published on December 21, 2019, a shocking exposé has brought Resolution Insurance company under the spotlight for allegedly swindling millions of shillings from the sick through fictitious charges under their medical cover.

According to investigations, a web of inside cartel, comprising crook officials based at the company's headquarters in Nairobi, working in cahoots with corrupt branch officials and similar elements in respective hospitals, where they are accredited as medical cover providers.

The cartel has perfected the art of frustrating efforts to settle bills of their clients, painfully after accessing crucial hospital details that they would later alter to wire the payment into their pockets at the expense of the unsuspecting clients.

Executors of the racket seem to be heavily relying on their field brokers to identify potential clients and most targeted are those perceived to be financially sound with the ability to settle the bill on their own, should the insurance reject such payments.

Recently, a senior medic in Kisumu unearthed the racket where many people seem to have been unknowingly conned millions of shillings.

Two members of the staff from Kisumu branch, identified as Joram Akong'o and Pirose Ouma, had attempted to arm-twist the medic into their dirty deal, prompting a heated phone call debate before a lady from the insurance company headquarters in Nairobi, only identified as Lucy, was roped in through a conference call.

The medic offered a scathing lecture on the dangers of stealing from the sick, and doctors are now on high alert following increasing cases where crooks from Resolution Insurance company have been accused of stealing millions of shillings from unsuspecting patients.
