On October 10, 2019, a violent eviction at Titanic House in Eastleigh, Nairobi, left a trader injured and robbed of his valuables.
William Mwangi, one of the 20 people hired to evict Yusuf Abdi Salim, was charged with robbery with violence at the Makadara Law Courts on Thursday.
According to reports, Salim was assaulted and robbed of a mobile phone worth Sh85,000 and Sh3,000 in cash during the incident.
Salim was rescued by the police after being injured by the gang wielding rungu sticks.
During his court appearance before Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji, Mwangi denied the charges and was released on a Sh500,000 bond.
The case is set to resume on April 28, 2020.
