Published on December 20, 2019, a recent leak has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will launch in the first quarter of 2020, alongside the Galaxy S11.

The Galaxy Fold 2 boasts a clamshell design, a significant departure from its predecessor's foldable display. According to the Independent, the new design is inspired by classic flip phones, with a horizontal fold that allows the device to transform into a pocketable square.

When folded, the screen is hidden on the inside, similar to the original Galaxy Fold. However, the new device has a 6.7-inch screen that folds across the horizontal axis, whereas the original Galaxy Fold has a 7.3-inch main screen and a 4.6-inch secondary one.

The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be a cheaper version of the Samsung fold family, with a price tag of around $1,000, according to Gizmodo. This is significantly lower than the original Galaxy Fold, which costs $1,980 or £1,800.

The new device also features a slimmer body than its predecessor and comes in two colors: black and purple. The exterior has a glossy finish, and there's a small secondary display on the outside.

The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be 5G-enabled, thanks to its Snapdragon 765 processor. It also features a 108-megapixel sensor as the main camera, along with a second telephoto lens and a 5X optical zoom.

Additionally, the phone supports 4G networks only and comes with 256GB of RAM. It is expected to launch in multiple countries, including India, the US, China, Korea, and the EU region.
