Deputy President William Ruto will make history on Saturday, December 21, 2019, when he presides over the laying of the foundation stone of The William Ruto Leadership Institute at Makerere University in Uganda.
According to a statement by Makerere University, the institution has been requested by Uganda President Yoweri Museveni to host The William Ruto Leadership Institute, with Dr. Ruto as the chief guest.
Confirming the invitation, Dr. Ruto's communications boss, David Mugonyi, stated that the invitation letter shared online was genuine.
The Institute aims to draw on the diversity of disciplines and experiences to develop and refine methodologies for the study of Africa, as well as develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning about the continent.
It will also collaborate with similar institutes in Africa to deepen the understanding of Africa, its complexity, and evolve common perspectives on global issues.
