Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is optimistic about the chances of Virgil van Dijk recovering in time for the Club World Cup final against Flamengo on Saturday.

Van Dijk sat out their semi-final match, and with Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren also absent, Jordan Henderson dropped into central defence to partner Joe Gomez in their 2-1 win over Monterrey.

"Virgil was part of training today so we will see how it looks at the end," Klopp said at a press conference at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

Despite concerns over Van Dijk's fitness, Klopp reassured that the team has no new injury concerns, and they are focusing on recovery ahead of the final.
