Lamadi Utalii Festival to Take Place in Tanzania from December 29 ¶
The Lamadi Utalii Festival, a major tourism event in Tanzania, is set to take place from December 29 to January 1, 2020, in the Busega district.
According to the chairperson of the festival's organizing committee, Busega District Commissioner Bi. Tano Mwera, the event is expected to attract a large number of visitors and exhibitors.
"We welcome all visitors to come and witness the grand tourism event of Lamadi. Everyone will get to experience it for free, and there will be no entrance fees," Bi. Tano Mwera said.
She also called on local businesspeople and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the festival's business opportunities.
"We invite all businesspeople and entrepreneurs from Busega, Simiyu Region, and neighboring regions to come and sell their products at our festival," Bi. Tano Mwera said.
Additionally, she invited tourists from abroad and other parts of Tanzania to visit Lamadi during the festival.
"Lamadi is ready to receive visitors from all over. We have prepared for their safety and comfort," Bi. Tano Mwera said.
The festival's organizing committee has already held meetings with stakeholders to ensure its success.
"I have met with my committee members to ensure that we make this event a success. They include Nelson Machibya, Kisesa Cultural Group Manager, Sifuni Sospatery, Mwanza City Tourism Officer, John Semkubay, Regional Tourism Officer, Victor Bundala, Mwanza Regional Tourism Officer, Gloria Munhambo, Ziwa Tourism Board Chairperson, Eva Mallya, Saanane Island Chief Warden, Diana Chambi, Kijereshi Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Manager, and TANAPA Representative," Bi. Tano Mwera said.
Visitors to the festival can expect to see a variety of local products, including traditional crafts, artwork, and food.
