As Kenyans gear up for the festive season, there's a welcome respite from the heavy rainfall that has plagued the country for weeks.

According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to take a turn for the better, with no more rains expected in the coming days.

Instead, the country can look forward to sunny weather, with the department predicting a reduction in rainfall intensity over the next seven days.

However, moderate occasional rainfall is still expected to continue over the southern half of the country, while the northern part is expected to remain dry.

As of December 16, 2019, the Kenya Meteorological Department had forecasted the following weather pattern for the next seven days:

FORECAST FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS FROM 17TH TO 23RD DECEMBER, 2019. The forecast for the next seven-day period indicates that rainfall intensity is likely to reduce over several parts of the country. — Kenya Met Department (@MeteoKenya) December 16, 2019

It's worth noting that the country has experienced significant rainfall since October, with up to 40mm of rain recorded in some areas. This has led to floods and destruction of property, resulting in the loss of over 132 lives.
