On October 17, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred at Pumwani Integrated School in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo area, where a trader, Musa Juma, stormed an examination marking room and assaulted a teacher, Linet Odhiambo.
According to reports, Odhiambo and her colleagues were marking examinations for learners not taking national tests ahead of school closure when Juma allegedly forced his way into the room, grabbed Odhiambo by the collar, and hit her against the wall.
Fortunately, Odhiambo's colleagues intervened and ejected the assailant, but not before the incident had occurred.
On December 20, 2019, Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate, Angelo Kithinji, forfeited Juma's cash bail and ordered his arrest after he failed to appear in court to take his plea for the assault charges.
As a result, an arrest warrant has been issued for Juma, and if and when he is apprehended, he will remain in custody until January 2, 2020, when the case will be mentioned.
