Former presidential candidate Abduba Dida has urged the Senate to recall and reinstate Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu to his office, citing the will of the people who elected him.
Waititu was impeached by the Kiambu County Assembly on November 19, after a vote of no confidence.
According to Dida, the Senate should reinstate Waititu to allow him to complete his term and serve the people who elected him.
"The Senate should hear the cry of Waititu and allow him to complete his term, the people of Kiambu knew who they were electing, it's not right to punish them with five years of suffering," Dida tweeted on December 19.
Waititu's troubles began on July 28, when he was arrested by anti-corruption authorities over a Sh588 million scandal.
