December 19, 2019, marked the last cabinet meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta, where it was agreed to rename Moi Day as Huduma Day and celebrate it on October 10, and Boxing Day as Utamaduni Day.

Leaders from the Jubilee party allied to the Tangatanga movement have expressed concerns over President Uhuru Kenyatta's drinking habit, which they claim has affected his ability to deliberate on important national matters.

According to the leaders, the President's drinking habit has made him appear visibly drunk at national functions, including the recent Akorino annual conference at Kasarani stadium.

At the conference, President Kenyatta strongly censured the Tanga Tanga team, accusing them of taking him for granted.

Similar incidents have been reported at the Bomas of Kenya during the BBI report unveiling, where the President laughed off criticism from National Assembly Minority whip Mohamed Junet.

Some pundits argue that President Kenyatta's drinking habit led to the appointment of Interior CS Fred Matiangi as a super cabinet minister, giving him sweeping powers over government programs.

The move, however, caused concern among Ruto allies, who believe it was aimed at undermining the Deputy President.
