Motorists in Nairobi are advised to expect heavy traffic congestion today as four prominent universities hold their graduation ceremonies.

The universities of Nairobi, Kenyatta, Daystar, and Technical University of Kenya are among those holding their graduations, with the highest number of students expected to graduate at Nairobi and Kenyatta universities.

According to police, they have deployed sufficient personnel to manage the events, but motorists are urged to avoid the affected areas, including Thika Highway, Uhuru Highway, Waiyaki Way, Mombasa Road, and Heile Sellaisie.

The ongoing construction of a footbridge at Njomoko is expected to worsen the situation on Thika Road, causing a blockage of a section of the highway.

Unlike previous years, the universities have scheduled their graduation ceremonies on the same day, resulting in the inconvenience.
