Published on December 20, 2019, a BBC documentary exposed the shocking truth about women from Kenya and other African countries being trafficked to India to serve as sex slaves.

These girls, mostly from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, are deceived into believing they will secure well-paying jobs in India, but instead, they are traded for sex and forced to live in miserable conditions.

One such victim, a young Kenyan mother named Grace, was told there was a job opportunity waiting for her in India. However, her dream was shattered immediately she landed in India, as her passport was confiscated by a woman named Goldie, who introduced herself as a caregiver.

Grace revealed that she is just one of the over 1,000 Kenyan women who were lured into foreign countries under the guise of employment, only to end up as sex slaves to make money for sex cartels.

According to Grace, she has been forced to have sex with 400 men in less than 5 months to sustain herself and settle debts she allegedly owes her 'masters', Princess and Goldie.

Grace also shared that the 'cartels' have devised a new method of trafficking women into India, where women pretend to be traveling there for cancer treatment, only to be immersed in the deep ends of the sex trade.

Women are paraded in brothels referred to as the 'kitchen', where the majority of the buyers are African men working or seeking education in New Delhi.

Grace recounted her horrific experience, saying, 'I hated it so much that a man has to come and pick you up the way you go to the market and pick potatoes.'

A sex session is said to have a standard price of 1,000 Indian Rupees (approximately KSh.1,400), which is paid to the mistresses until the bondage of 270,000 Indian Rupees (approximately Sh390,000) is recovered.
