MTN's mobile money service is set to revolutionize the way South Africans make transactions. The service, which will go live in January 2020, will enable customers to send, receive, save money, and pay for goods using their mobile phones.

MTN's decision to relaunch mobile money services in South Africa comes three years after the company canned the service. In a 2019 telecoms conference in Cape Town, group Chief Executive Officer Rob Shuter announced plans to revive the service.
