Kelvin Macharia's determination and resilience in the face of adversity have paid off, as he scored an impressive B+ (68 points) in the 2019 KCSE examinations.

When Macharia's left leg was amputated while he was in Class Seven at Muringa Primary School in Bahati, Nakuru County, he faced a daunting challenge in completing his primary education.

However, with the support of Mpesa Foundation Academy, Macharia was able to focus on his studies and achieve his dreams.

"I had other health challenges and I was surprised when I got B plus," Macharia told Nation.

He credited Mpesa Foundation for providing him with supportive mentors and opportunities that have exposed him to a world of possibilities.

"I want to study hard and become a music professor as Mpesa Foundation has exposed me to supportive mentors," Macharia said.

Despite facing numerous challenges, including being ferried to school on a wheelbarrow by his mother, Macharia remained determined to succeed.

"The worst disability in life is bad attitude," Macharia urged other disabled students, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and a positive mindset.
