December 19, 2019 - Samuel Kimeu, the outgoing Executive Director of Transparency International-Kenya, has announced his resignation from the organization after nearly a decade of service.
Mr. Kimeu will join Africa's Voices Foundation, where he will drive growth and expansion, leveraging his experience in citizen engagement, anti-corruption, and governance reform in Africa.
According to a statement from Africa's Voices Foundation, Mr. Kimeu's role will be to 'drive growth and expansion during a moment of great potential to achieve the organisation's mission: to transform the way citizen voices are listened to and acted upon in decisions that affect their lives.'
Mr. Kimeu will be taking over from Dr. Sharath Srinivasan, a renowned governance and human rights academic, who will be headed to Cambridge University. Dr. Srinivasan will continue to work with Mr. Kimeu in early 2020 to orient him to Africa's Voices's projects and partnerships.
Ms. Sheila Masinde will take over as acting Executive Director in January 2020 when Mr. Kimeu's resignation takes effect.
