A 21-year-old casual worker at the Laikipia Military Airbase has been charged in connection with the murder of Joyce Syombua and her two children.
Collins Pamba denied being an accomplice in the killing of Syombua and her children, Shanice Maua, 11, and Prince Michael, 5.
Appearing before Justice Jairus Ngaah at the Nyeri High Court, Pamba applied to be released on bond and sought orders compelling the State to serve him with witness statements and documentary evidence.
State Counsel Peter Mailanyi opposed the bail application, stating that the prosecution would file an affidavit outlining the grounds for opposition within 14 days.
Justice Ngaah directed the investigation officer to file the affidavit and scheduled a pretrial conference for January 20, 2020.
Meanwhile, Major Peter Mugure, the main suspect in the case, is expected to take plea on December 20, after undergoing a mandatory mental evaluation.
