Impala Saracens head coach Mitch Ocholla is confident that his team will bounce back to winning ways when they face Western Bulls this weekend at their Impala backyard.
According to Ocholla, the team's last loss to KCB last weekend is already behind them, and they are focusing on the upcoming match.
‘We just thank God for the results so far,’ Ocholla said. ‘With a number of injuries, we’re focusing on what we’re supposed to do, so for me, I want to have a good game against Western Bulls this weekend and forget about our loss against KCB last weekend, so generally, we’re ready for the battle,’ he added.
Western Bulls have won two of their last three games, beating Mwamba and Kisumu, but fell to Kabras. However, Ocholla is not worried about this, saying that rugby is a game of 80 minutes, and the referee's decisions can change the outcome.
‘Rugby doesn’t change; it’s 80 minutes, the referee is there, and we have got the same dimensions on the square, so it’s who comes to the party over the weekend, basically we’ve planned well for the Bulls and we wish them journey mercies as they travel down to Nairobi over this Christmas period,’ Ocholla explained.
Impala Saracens are currently fourth in the Kenya Cup standings with 25 points, 10 behind table-toppers Kabras Sugar. Ocholla believes they’re in a ‘safe’ position as they target a playoff spot.
‘We’re in a good place; so far so good; we’re targeting a playoff position so for me, it’s maintaining the fourth position or going up,’ he added.
