On December 19, 2019, Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen clarified his stance on defending King Kaka against a potential lawsuit by Ann Waiguru.
Murkomen stated that he would defend King Kaka, but only if the artist meets his legal fees.
“King Kaka is a successful artiste who has made millions from his work and the law is very clear that legal representation has to be facilitated,” the lawyer noted.
Murkomen, who has successfully defended high-profile cases in the past, including Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, expressed confidence in his ability to handle King Kaka's case.
“Do not count on the many promises that quack lawyers are giving you of pro-bono services, you might find yourself on your own,” he advised the rapper.
He emphasized that King Kaka's case requires a lawyer of high profile and vast experience, which makes him uniquely qualified to handle the case.
