Published on December 19, 2019, a group of leaders from Central Kenya converged at Deputy President William Ruto's rural home in Sugoi, Kenya, to make a major declaration.
Led by Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri, the group first met at Eldoret Sports Club before heading to Eldoret Silverline, where they interacted with a section of Eldoret residents.
The main agenda of the meeting was to express their love and support for Deputy President Ruto, with over 4000 people volunteering to attend.
According to Ngunjiri, the group wanted to show their appreciation for Ruto's leadership and the 2013 handshake between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta, which has brought peace and stability to the region.
"We want to respect him, we want to show we love him, and we want to show him we stay in Rift Valley and we are happy because of the 2013 handshake," said Ngunjiri.
They also claimed that their visit was to put more strength on Ruto's 2013 political agreement with Uhuru ahead of the 2022 succession politics.
