At the Kenya Youth Inter-Counties Sports Association (KYISA) Games, Busia men's basketball team maintained their perfect run, beating Turkana 145-76 at the Busia County Stadium on December 19, 2019 to qualify for the semi-finals.

Busia's Martin Otieno led the team with his exceptional offensive and defensive skills, securing a significant lead of 20-8, 32-14, 40-20, and 53-34 in the first, second, third, and fourth quarters, respectively.

Otieno emerged as the top scorer with 18 points, followed closely by Seth Masibo and Isaac Mukabane, who both scored eight points each. Dominic Elim of Turkana was the star-man with 12 points.

Busia had already won their first match on Monday, defeating Samburu 64-19, and will face the runners-up of Pool 'B' in the semi-finals. The winners of Pool 'B' will then meet Turkana, who finished second in Pool A.

Busia coach Christine Wabala expressed her team's hope for a podium finish, stating that their strategy is to win until the end. Team captain Brian Oduor added that the absence of Kisumu is a blessing in disguise, and nothing can stop them from winning their first trophy.
