As the festive season approaches, the Coast region is expecting a high number of visitors. To ensure their safety and security, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Njoroge Mbugua has embarked on a tour of the region.

Mr Mbugua, who was in Kilifi town on December 19, 2019, met with police officers and assured them of his support in maintaining law and order during the festive season.

"We are having a lot of visitors at the Coast and I must come to tell officers to protect the public. They should serve the citizens well and ensure that traffic rules are being observed," said Mbugua.

He cautioned drivers against going against traffic rules and emphasized the importance of sticking to designated routes as stated by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

"Police officers should man the roads well and ensure that drivers are not overloading vehicles with passengers. Vehicles must go to the routes they are used to because when a driver uses a new road, he will not be able to identify which part of the road is bad," said Mr Mbugua.
