Published on December 19, 2019, Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi has shown faith in goalkeeper Samuel Odhiambo, selecting him for the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup third place playoff against Tanzania on Thursday.

Odhiambo faced intense criticism for his mistakes in Harambee Stars' 4-1 loss to Eritrea in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Despite the criticism, Kimanzi has kept Odhiambo in the starting lineup, alongside Moses Mudavadi, who makes his first start for Harambee Stars. Mudavadi will partner Anthony Wambani and Kenneth Muguna in midfield, while Oscar Wamalwa continues to lead the team's goal-scoring efforts.

Bandari forward Hassan Abdallah also retains his place in the starting lineup after a strong run in the tournament.

The starting lineup for Harambee Stars is as follows: Samuel Odhiambo, Samuel Olwande, David Owino, Johnstone Omurwa, Joash Onyango, Lawrence Juma, Moses Mudavadi, Anthony Wambani, Kenneth Muguna, Oscar Wamalwa, and Hassan Abdallah.

The substitutes for Harambee Stars are: Timothy Odhiambo, Andrew Juma, Daniel Sakari, Roy Okal, Musa Masika, Cliffton Miheso, Kevin Kimani, Whyvone Isuza, and Timothy Otieno.
