On December 18, 2019, President Donald Trump became the third President in US history to be impeached by the House of Representatives.

Despite the historic vote, Trump remains optimistic, vowing to face his detractors in the Senate with courage.

At the heart of the impeachment proceedings is the President's alleged abuse of power in foreign diplomacy, particularly in Ukraine and Russia.

Democrats are pushing for a fair trial, seeking to expose the President's alleged wrongdoing, including his demand for the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the Bidens and the Burisma Oil Company.

However, Republicans are determined to hold a swift vote to save the President's face, with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refusing to allow key officials to testify before the Senate committee.

The outcome of the Senate trial hangs in the balance, with Democrats needing to convince at least six Republicans to vote against the President and remove him from office.
