On December 18, 2019, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results were announced, and among the students who excelled was 19-year-old Collins Mwangi Kiama.

Despite having persistent lung problems for the last four years, Kiama scored a remarkable B+ in the exams.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha recognized Kiama as one of the students who achieved great success despite having special needs.

Speaking to the Nation shortly after the results were announced, Kiama's mother, Christine Edna Kiama, shared her son's inspiring story.

"We have been taking him to school every morning and bringing him back home in the evening," Ms. Kiama said, thanking the school's management for their support.

Kiama's determination to pursue his dreams is evident, as he aspires to join the University of Nairobi and become a doctor.
