On Wednesday, the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results were announced, and students who had made remarkable improvements were recognized for their achievements.
Cabinet Secretary for Education, Prof George Magoha, took the opportunity to celebrate these students, highlighting the importance of encouraging children to pursue their education without prejudice.
Prof Magoha emphasized that students who score below 300 in their KCSE exams should not be condemned, and that society should work to remove this myth.
He encouraged parents and educators to support students who may have struggled in the past, but have shown significant improvement in their academic performance.
Among the students recognized for their achievements were Kinywa Milka Wanjiru, who scored 179 in KCPE and went on to achieve a B- in KCSE; Munywoki Mwikali, who scored 199 in KCPE and achieved a B- in KCSE; Sharon Kepkoech, who scored 183 in KCPE and achieved a C+ in KCSE; Joseph Mwangi, who scored 193 in KCPE and achieved a C+ in KCSE; Mureti Timothy, who scored 194 in KCPE and achieved a C+ in KCSE; and Mbugua Macharia, who scored an impressive C+ in KCSE.
