Carlo Ancelotti's appointment as Everton manager is nearing completion, with the Italian coach set to bring his son Davide and Duncan Ferguson on board as his assistants.
Ancelotti, 60, met Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri in London on Tuesday for face-to-face talks about becoming manager, and the discussions were reportedly positive.
However, there is still some work to be done before the three-time Champions League-winning coach can be confirmed as Marco Silva's successor.
Ancelotti and Everton have agreed on his principal backroom staff, with Ferguson set to play a prominent role after impressing the Blues hierarchy with his performances in caretaker charge.
The Italian coach will bring his son Davide, 30, who has worked with Ancelotti since 2012 and has held the same position at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, on board as his assistant.
Ancelotti is expected to take charge for the first time in Everton's Boxing Day clash with Burnley, but he has yet to agree his severance package with Napoli, which could take a couple of days to finalize.
Everton will leave Duncan Ferguson in caretaker charge for Saturday's home clash with Arsenal, and Moshiri has promised Ancelotti substantial funds to assemble a squad capable of challenging for honours and European football.
Ancelotti is set to be one of the highest-paid coaches in Europe, with a reported £11.5million-a-year contract until June 2023.
