On December 18, 2019, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results for 2019 were released, with Buluma Tonny Wabuko from Kapsabet Boys High School emerging as the top student.

With a mean score of 87.159, Buluma Tonny Wabuko outshone his peers, making him the best performer in the 2019 KCSE exams.

Speaking during the release of the results, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha noted that this year's performance had improved significantly.

According to the results, a total of 125,746 candidates scored C+ and above, while the number of KCPE candidates who attained Grade A rose to 627, up from 315 in 2018.

Out of the 699,745 students who sat for the exams, the marking process took place in 20 centres around Nairobi from November 28 to December 12.

However, the marking exercise was temporarily halted in some centres in Nairobi and Machakos due to demands by teachers for better living conditions and an increase in per-script payment.
