Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha recently released the results of the 2019 KCSE exams, revealing a significant improvement in student performance.
Notably, the number of candidates who scored straight As increased dramatically from 315 in 2018 to 627 in 2019, marking a new record.
Additionally, the number of candidates who scored grade A- also rose from 3,418 in 2018 to 5,796 in 2019.
Magoha commended the record number of candidates who scored grade C+ and above, which increased from 90,377 in 2018 to 125,746 in 2019.
Interestingly, female students outperformed their male counterparts in several subjects, including English, Kiswahili, CRE, Home Science, Art, German, and Sign Language.
Furthermore, 17 counties had more female candidates than male candidates.
