December just got a whole lot more exciting for Gengetone fans in Kenya and beyond, thanks to Matata, a crew from Oslo, Norway, who have been making waves with their Gengetone-infused music. Their second big song, 'Mare Mare', has been trending, and it's easy to see why.

Comprising five talented men - Freddy Milanya, Festus Mwenda, Richard Mathu, Marcus Ojiambo, and Ken Kim - Matata has decided not to let the Gengetone fever pass them by. Their music, which is all in Sheng, has been gaining traction, with some of their lyrics even in Kikuyu.

Matata's music is not just about the catchy beats and melodies; it's also about the cultural significance of Gengetone. Despite being based in Norway, the crew has chosen to embrace their Kenyan roots and make Gengetone popular abroad.

With their first video being an HD production featuring professional dancers and well-done makeup, it's clear that Matata is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Freddy Milanya, one of the crew members, was part of the FBI dancers in the past, which explains the perfect choreography in their songs.

Matata's homecoming as summer bunnies has definitely made this December one to remember. With their music taking over the world, it's clear that the slogan 'Gengetone to the world' is more than just a phrase - it's a reality.
