On December 18, 2019, a mysterious disappearance of furniture worth Ksh.3 million occurred at the Speaker's house in the Kisumu County Assembly.

The incident took place at the posh Milimani estate, prompting the county assembly to lodge a formal complaint at the Kisumu Central Police Station.

Acting Clerk Owen Ojuok stated that the missing items belonged to the County Assembly, including cabinets, executive sofa sets, a TV, an executive bed, and other furniture.

According to Ojuok, the furniture was supposed to be handed over by former Speaker Onyango Oloo after the court ruling on his impeachment case.

Ojuok added that Oloo vacated the Speaker's house on the same day the judgment was delivered.

It is alleged that a team taking inventory of the Assembly property visited the house situated next to Kisumu State Lodge and discovered that the furniture was missing.

Police have been urged to expedite their investigations to find the missing furniture.
