December 18, 2019, marked the debut of GetMyBoat, a US-based boat hailing app, at the Kenyan Coast. The company aims to tap into the Kenyan tourist market during the festive season.

GetMyBoat, which started operations in Kenya this year, has already listed 94 boats on its platform. The company's expansion into Kenya is part of its efforts to diversify its services beyond on-land safaris and promote water-based adventures.

According to Valerie Streif, Head of Marketing at GetMyBoat, the company wants to make it easy for tourists to access the water and experience the many great water adventures Kenya has to offer.

GetMyBoat is looking to take advantage of underused boat capacity in docks and marinas, providing a platform for boat owners to rent out their vessels to those who want to go boating but couldn't access it otherwise.

The app aims to eliminate the hassles associated with touts when picking a boat for a trip, providing a convenient and hassle-free experience for users.
